8 Days In Calgary at Mac's World Invitational
Flew out with my team Christmas morning and returned the day after New Years. It was a first class tournament, with opening and closing ceremonies. By tournament rules we had to have a second goalie so we were able to adopt a local goalie, Jenna, for the tournament. It was fun getting to know her. I really enjoyed the chance to play some top Canadian midget teams. We won two, one a shutout, and lost two against some top Canadian teams. I lead all goalies in minutes (212) and shots (120 by tournament count 130 by Jr Sharks count). My save percentage was 90% by Jr Sharks count (89% by tournament count). Fun to face the challenge of top players, including two Canadian National players.
I also really enjoyed the opportunity to explore Calgary and to to visit Banff. It was cold!!! After the tournament we got the chance to do some pond skating. Now I have gotta get my skates sharpened.
